Food Blog Traffic and Income Report: May

Well, since everyone these days seems to be publishing traffic and income reports for their food blogs, I figured I would share mine because a:) hopefully it might be helpful to people and b:) maybe if I post one every month I’ll be able to see the improvements and actually realize that I am getting somewhere.

The truth of the matter is, while looking at these traffic and income reports can be helpful, it can also be depressing. Especially Pinch of Yum’s income report. That’s just not very hope-inspiring, because I look at it and think, “three million pageviews? That will happen to me…never.”

So people, here’s my rather sad and small traffic and income report, but hopeful nonetheless because it’s a start. And we all have to start somewhere.

INCOME:

Gourmet Ads: $30.59
Viglink: $0.38 (awe-inspiring!)

Total: $30.97 #proud.

No, really. $31 (I like to round up) is something, right? I mean, sure, it’s nothing like the millions I envisioned when I started this blog at fourteen (somehow back then I was convinced that I would wind up a billionaire before I graduated highschool. Ha).

But you know, $31 is better than $0. My goal is to be making $200/month by the time I start college (hopefully it can help pay for groceries), so that gives me three months. I’d say that $30 is a good start.

So, now, the traffic…

TRAFFIC

As you can see, I was just short of 30,000 this month. Dang. I was really hoping to make 30,000 so I could apply for the Mediavine ad network, but that will happen soon enough. On the bright side, here’s last month’s traffic:

People, my traffic has almost DOUBLED (and come to think of it, my income has more than doubled)! I’m pretty happy about that. Hopefully the trend keeps up next month! (doubled income would be cool too).

So that’s it. My first traffic and income report! Here’s to better luck next month!

Congrats! You are doing awesome! Blogging for profit takes time, but with hard work, your investment pays off! I sold my first blog seven years ago, so I know how exciting it is to see traffic grow. I hope the rest of the world can enjoy your awesome recipes, too!

Hi, I’m Linnaea, the girl behind the blog! When I'm not mixing up GF goodness, you might find me herding cattle on our family ranch, frantically studying my way through college, procrastinating on homework by reading a good thick book, or bossing people around. Welcome to my corner of the internet! I'm so glad you're here. :) [Read More...]
